Key Storylines:
Pamela Hudson is serving ten years in prison at
the Bendala Detention Centre for embezzlement when she
meets Beryl Palmer, who's on remand for the attempted
murder of Wayne Hamilton. Pamela is surprised by Beryl's
reaction to meeting her: Beryl babbles about how Pamela
reminds her of someone she used to know, called Patricia.
Pamela reaches the end of her stretch a few days later
and Beryl arranges for her to go and stay at the mansion
run by Fiona Thompson. It isn't long before Pamela finds
a woman called Alison Carr hanging around. Pamela takes
an immediate dislike to her - and is then stunned when
Alison reveals that she and Pamela are twin sisters! Alison
even takes Pamela up to Albury to see Pamela's mother,
who confirms that Patricia and Pamela's parents - who
also had a son, Patrick - couldn't have coped bringing
up both girls, so tossed a coin to decide which one to
adopt out. A shocked Pamela has to listen to the truth
- but then decides to pretend outwardly that she's not
phased, while planning inwardly to take revenge on Alison
for being the twin who ended up living the fine life.
Pamela lets Alison start splashing out money on her,
buying her fine clothes and jewellery - but it's a man
who brings tensions to a head between the sisters: Nick
Benson makes a play for first one and then the other,
leading to increasing jealousies and tensions between
the two women. Pamela ends up using a 'psychic link' that
she discovers exists between her and Alison to push Alison's
car off the road when Alison is driving it - with Nick
in the passenger seat. A furious Nick decides he wants
nothing to do with either sister - but he then relents
and tells Pamela that he loves her and wants her to live
with him. A delighted Pamela rubs Alison's nose in the
situation one final time before leaving Sydney to start
her new life properly.
